After crossing the High Atlas and the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, the trek heads into the desert near Zagora, where a team of camels and an experienced guide accompany you on foot across the dunes of Labied, Chegaga, Erg Sedra and Oued Laatach, sleeping under canvas or beneath the open sky, before a guided visit to Marrakech to close the journey.

Your experience step by step
Day 1: Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou
Departure from Marrakech towards the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, heading for the High Atlas via the Tichka Pass at 2,260 m altitude, crossing pretty little Berber villages (Agouim, Ighrem). Arrival in the evening at Aït Ben Haddou for the first night at your hotel.
Day 2: Aït Ben Haddou → Zagora – Oasis of El Gettara
After breakfast, head to the desert towards Zagora, where you will be welcomed for lunch with a local family. Continue towards the starting point for your first night in the mountains at the Oasis of El Gettara. Overnight in a bivouac.
Day 3: Zagora → Labied
Departure after breakfast, with around 2 hours of walking. Lunch in the shade of an acacia tree. In the afternoon, around 2 more hours of walking to reach the dunes of Labied. Overnight in a bivouac.
Day 4: Labied → Chegaga
Departure after breakfast for around 3 hours of walking to reach the great dunes of Chegaga. Lunch on site and, in the afternoon, rest to enjoy the vastness and beauty of the great dunes. Overnight in a bivouac.
Day 5: Chegaga → Erg Sedra
Departure after breakfast, with around 2 hours of walking. Lunch served in the shade of tamarisk trees. In the afternoon, around 2 more hours of walking to reach the dunes of Erg Sedra. Overnight in a bivouac.
Day 6: Erg Sedra → Oued Laatach
Departure after breakfast for 2 hours of walking. Lunch served in the shade of tamarisk trees. In the afternoon, around 2 more hours of walking to arrive at the dunes of Oued Laatach for your last night in the desert.
Day 7: Oued Laatach → Zagora
After breakfast, a 4x4 will pick you up for your transfer to Zagora. Meal on site and overnight at a hotel.
Day 8: Zagora → Ouarzazate → Marrakech
After breakfast, transfer towards Marrakech via Ouarzazate. Visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios. Lunch on site and, in the afternoon, departure for Marrakech. Overnight at a riad.
Day 9: Marrakech
Guided tour of Marrakech (historic monuments, souks, etc.). Overnight at the riad.
Day 10: Marrakech – End of the trek
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for your return flight.
